The Tolleson Family Activities Center replaces an older facility located directly across the street from the HPUMC’s main campus. The 1st floor is dedicated to the church’s heartfelt ministry outreach to the Special Needs community and their families. The Special Needs areas are designed to be sensitive to specific requirements of many different levels of the Special Needs individual from group gatherings to sensory sensitive spaces designed for individual participation.
On the 2nd level, the Youth program includes classrooms, break-out small group areas, youth activity areas and a new dedicated worship center. The Youth area is arranged and outfitted with ‘Youthful” architecture without actual theming. Along with a 3rd level athletics programs including a full competition Gymnasium, cafes and support spaces serve not only the athletics programs but the buildings many multi-purpose venues. The site is located in a very urban environment that allows for very little surface parking, Therefore, the facility sits on a 2 level underground parking garage that allows for protected entry for the visitor, especially a visitor that has ambulatory restrictions.
